Handa City, located on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture, is a town rich in brewing traditions and maritime history dating back to the Edo period. Once, locally crafted sake, vinegar, miso, and tamari soy sauce were transported across the sea to Edo, where they became widely cherished.
Even today, the city is home to historic sake and vinegar breweries, where the craftsmanship of artisans and the deep aroma of fermentation continue to thrive.

In this tour, you’ll visit one of the Japan’s largest wooden sake brewery buildings the is no longer used for actual sake brewing and enjoy a pairing lunch featuring sake made there and seasonal ingredients from the Chita Peninsula.
This brewery has a rich history, operating for over 200 years until it closed about 20 years ago. In 2021, the ninth-generation successor revitalized it, and created a space for food, sake, and events.
